HE-ESA-024 EGNOS system studies for railways

Start: February 2025 – Duration 18 months

The objectives of the ESA-funded study are:

– to support ESA for the definition of future EGNOS services for railways and

– to define the EGNOS system evolutions necessary to support these new services, either based on existing SBAS services with new commitments, or based on a future Railways dedicated service.

The project is organized into three interdependent work streams:

1. Mission and service definition for the three levels of EGNOS services for Rail.

2. Identification of EGNOS system evolutions needed to support these services.

3. System and user performance feasibility assessment through model-based prediction and end-to-end mock-up experimentations, and contribution to the consolidation of system and user standards.
