EGNSS infrastructures and ARAIM technologies play an important role for the adoption of GNSS into Train Control Systems<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 RHINOS team, co-ordinated by Radiolabs,\u00a0 with\u00a0 DLR, the Universities of Nottingham, Pardubice, Stanford and with Ansaldo STS and Sogei have successfully completed the project – co-funded by GSA – bringing an important contribution for the adoption of GNSS in the train control application. Final results\u00a0 \u00a0verified with simulations and experimental data, demonstrated \u00a0that is possible to achieve protection levels in the range of 12 meters along the track and 5 meters for parallel track discrimination, \u00a0representing a 60-80% improvement respect to previous results. \u00a0An innovative two levels architecture with Advanced Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (ARAIM) has been developed and simulated\u00a0 to detect and mitigate the Multipath\u00a0 that is the greatest threat to the viability of GNSS for rail applications.
