The Project
LOCKSAT is the acronymn of LOCal Key Synchronization and generation for data security in sATellite communications.LOCKSAT is an algorithm which allow to frequently update the security keys without exchanging messages on the channel. Within the context of satellite communications, the propagation delay has a significant impact on the performance of the processes for keys renewal, since the requested update requires at least one or two round-trip delays. If the keys distribution is performed through satellites, the cost of such operation can be high in terms of bandwidth and delay.
LOCKSAT provides a solution for this problem.
RadioLabs activities
RadioLabs has contributed with the definition of scenarios for satellite applications, the algorithm definition and the simulation of scenarios aimed at verifying the applicability of the identified schemes.
