The CYBORG project – CYbersecure Block-chain based in-vehicle cOmmunications towRd post quantum cryptoGraphy – coordinated by Radiolabs, with partners Drivesec and the collaboration of the University of L’Aquila, funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU Fund (PNRR), aims to protect heterogeneous data streams from in-vehicle systems and from external sources, ensuring secure and fault-resilient positioning for autonomous driving systems.
CYBORG introduces key innovations, including the use of blockchain technology to securely record data exchanges between ECUs and in-vehicle systems, ensuring traceability through information certified over time. In addition, the project promotes the evolution of Crypto Engine technology, initially developed with the Shine-On project, to post-quantum cryptography in order to offer the highest levels of data protection in accord with NIST standards.
CYBORG’s results will be applicable in the areas of vehicular autonomous driving and smart roads, as well as in adjacent areas such as rail and maritime.
