I-PoCARS

The I-PoCARS project (Integrated PoC for real-time Automotive useR case with Step) addresses the creation of an enhanced localization system solution through 5G connectivity and GNSS enhancement as a first step toward a path planning safety solution for autonomous vehicles.

The work intends to create a preliminary design for an integrated industry-led framework, linking space, telecommunication and the automotive industry.

GNSS Correction information will be delivered into vehicles via the Vodafone STEP V2X service, utilizing a high priority 5G network slice to ensure reliable message delivery, and the 5G network will support accurate 5G positioning, as a complementary service to GNSS.
